This 4-story, 170,000-square-foot medical center near San Francisco was completed utilizing an IPD (Integrated Project Delivery) construction method. KHS&S was a part of this 11 trade partner project team with a shared risk pool that promoted team integration and a closer and more productive relationship. The medical center is comprised of 260 exam rooms, 4 operating rooms, a radiology department that includes MRI, CT and mammography rooms and a complete laboratory with 12 draw stations.

Lean Construction techniques were used to facilitate efficient project delivery, these methods included pull planning and work plans. To support this process the project team engaged in weekly training sessions.

KHS&S’ scope of work on the medical center included both interior and exterior construction. As part of the exterior construction, KHS&S completed the shop drawings and construction of 600 exterior panels. On the interior, KHS&S completed a level 5 finish throughout the center.
