KHS&S completed CoreSite SV7, the newest Silicon Valley data center on the Santa Clara Campus. This latest data center features efficiency and redundancy designs. The Santa Clara campus is comprised of over 618,000 square feet of colocation space.
KHS&S completed all exteriors, including metal stud framing and the Terra Cotta Rain Screen. The exterior studs were 50’ long and were installed using a vertical stocking system. The crew framed out the exterior up to the third floor with scaffolding and then crane the 50’ studs into place in a 14” gap between the scaffolding and building. The Sub-Girt System of 55,000 linear feet was attached to the exterior studs, followed by the terracotta panels. There were 21,000 exterior panels installed. The suggested installation per day was 50 panels and KHS&S exceeded this mark by installing an average of 141 panels per day. This project duration was 6 months with a peak crew of 90.
